ROCCI TO THE FORE IN WIN

-

THE Supercats women kicked off Saturday night at the Geelong Arena with another emphatic win, defeating Keilor Thunder 101-87.

Aimee Rocci (pictured) had the hot hand all night, the guard scoring 37 points in her team’s win, including five from nine from beyond the three-point line.

Those four missed threes were the only shots Rocci missed all night, impressively going 100 per cent from two-point range and the free-throw line.

Speaking after the game, coach Matthew Paton said her stat line was no surprise. “We know she’s that kind of talent, the rest of the team was really happy to see her be aggressive offensively in that way,” Paton said. “It’s indicative of the roles that our different guards play, that on any given night someone can step up and have a big night.”

Star Sara Blicavs was also impressive, scoring 14 points in the first quarter before finishing the game with 24 points and eight rebounds.
