Bans for Scarlett, Bourke

- OLLIE NASH

GEELONG Amateur’s Jack Scarlett is facing a fortnight on the sidelines after he was offered a two-match ban following an incident in Saturday’s BFL clash against Queenscliff.

Scarlett was charged for engaging in rough conduct against Couta Justin Maher in the final quarter of the 45point loss in Queenscliff.

Newcomb’s Kieren Bourke was also suspended by AFL Barwon’s match review panel in the wake of the Power’s 35point defeat to Barwon Heads.

At the request of the officiating umpires, the MRP looked at vision of an alleged dangerous tackle on Seagull Oliver Wiltshire and has offered Bourke a two-match ban.

Clubs have until 10am on Tuesday to challenge the penalties.

Meanwhile, melees in Geelong West’s win over Werribee Centrals in the GDFL and Leopold’s GFL clash with North Shore were both reviewed but no reportable offences were detected.
