PRIVATE AGENCIES CAN’T BE TRUSTED TO CARE
IT was good to read people in Marshall are campaigning for better residential care.
Can I add full-time nurses are just the start of the battle.
Recently, I decided to take a two-week break from full-time caring for my wife, a former popular mayor of Queenscliffe. I placed her in a high-reputation, privately run place with a nurse on duty 24-hours a day.
On my wife’s return home I could see something was wrong and called an ambulance.
The failure. She was unable to swallow. Her chances of recovery are slim. If this is the best that private agencies can provide, then the ultimate aim has to be that they be taken over by government. Robert Semmens, East Brunswick
