Collision victim identified

THE victim of a fatal collision was identified as a Bellbrae woman on Thursday.

Police were told a truck and two cars collided at the corner of Moores and Anglesea roads about 5.30pm on Wednesday.

The 65-year-old Bellbrae woman died at the scene, a police spokeswoma­n said.

“The driver of that car, a 63year-old Bellbrae woman, was taken to hospital in a critical condition,” the spokeswoma­n said.

“The driver of the other car involved, a 49-year-old Bellbrae man, was taken to hospital with minor injuries.”

A 45-year-old Thornhill Park man, who was driving the truck, received minor injuries, the spokeswoma­n said.

She said he was assisting police with their inquiries.

Detectives from the major collision investigat­ion unit are continuing to investigat­e the collision.

Police have urged anyone who witnessed the crash, has dashcam footage or any other informatio­n that could assist with the investigat­ion to contact Crime Stoppers.
