AWFUL TALE’S TRAGIC TURN

-

ONE of our region’s most horrific stories has taken yet another tragic turn with the untimely death of Cindy Gambino. After losing her three young sons in such an unimaginable way at the hands of their father, after reliving the drawn-out horror through three court cases over several years, and then after finding the inner strength to once again embrace life and remarry and have two more children, Cindy’s life was cut tragically short by a medical episode this week.

It is hard to imagine how somebody could weather so much heartbreak and find the strength she showed to not only tirelessly fight for justice for her three young boys, but pour that same love and devotion to her subsequent children.

The sheer horror of the crime that took her sons and the publicity it generated meant Cindy was thrust into the public eye for all the wrong reasons. She had to live with that infamy while trying to piece her life back together. She deserved more than for that life to be taken from her so young at 50.

Now her other children have to rebuild their lives without a loving mother, while Cindy’s second husband, Stephen Moules, has to endure even more tragic loss.

It goes without saying that after all that family has been put through, they deserved peace. We hope Cindy found some peace of her own before her life was taken, way too soon.
