GEELONG SET TO WELCOME LES MIS
GEELONG amateur musical theatre company CentreStage will bring epic musical Les Miserables to town next month.
The story of broken dreams, passion and redemption in a nation in the throes of revolution will be performed at the Geelong Arts Centre from June 3-11.
Les Mis, which has received more than 100 international awards, follows the story of Jean Valjean after he is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment.
He breaks parole in the hope of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways.
In the Geelong show, the role of Valjean will be performed by Nick Addison, while Shaun Kingma will take on the character of Javert, and Erin Cornell will play Fantine.
