When Shenai and Stuart met on the dance floor at a nightclub in Ballarat in 2011 they had no idea they were each other’s person. Instead they only started talking because their friends were getting together. Eight years later Stuart popped the question on holiday in Byron Bay. “For a week we had been saying that we wanted to take a picnic to the beach at sunset, so Stuart organised it, not something he typically does,” Shenai recalls. “We found the secluded Little Wategos Beach and right at sunset Stuart got down on one knee. “Little to our knowledge there was a group of hikers along a path in the scrub behind us and they started cheering once I managed to stutter ‘yes’.”
