Attack on pregnant ex

A LARA man has been sentenced after an attack on his pregnant ex.

Bryce Rees, 25, pleaded guilty at the Geelong Magistrates Court earlier this month to charges of assaulting his ex and making threats in an attempt to learn the name of her new boyfriend.

On Tuesday, he was sentenced to a 15-month community corrections order with conditions pertaining to mental health treatment, drug testing and reoffending behaviour programs.

The offending had taken place in February.

Rees trapped the woman inside, snatched her phone, causing her to fall, and grabbed her by the chin. Rees is expected to appear at the County Court later this month after allegedly beating the woman’s new partner with a wrench.
