GREATER Geelong has recorded 631 new Covid cases.

On Tuesday, 88 new cases were reported for the Surf Coast, three for the Borough of Queenscliffe, 60 for Golden Plains and 27 for Colac Otway.

Barwon South West public health unit director Eugene Athan said there were 21 Covid patients in Geelong hospital on Tuesday, with none in intensive care.

“The average age of hospital inpatients is 73,” Professor Athan said.

Victoria recorded 13,694 new cases and 20 deaths.

Meanwhile, flu cases have continued to surge.

Health Department data showed Greater Geelong had recorded 424 confirmed cases so far this year.

This was more than annual totals for 2021 (five cases) and 2020 (152).
