AEC gives Coker photobomber the flick
AN Australian Electoral Commission supervisor in the marginal seat of Corangamite has been sacked after appearing on incumbent Labor MP Libby Coker’s Instagram feed, making a peace sign.
On Wednesday, Ms Coker posted a photograph of herself and fellow Labor MP Julian Hill campaigning outside a pre-poll booth.
In the background, the
AEC worker can be seen wearing a yellow “supervisor” vest and making a peace sign.
An AEC spokesman said the man had been stood down immediately from his temporary position as a result of the photograph, which was deleted from Ms Coker’s Instagram page on Thursday.
“We are strict with our political neutrality,” the spokesman said.
“This person is no longer in that temporary role.”
