HOW GOVERNMENT IS FORMED
76 seats needed in the House of Representatives (lower house) to form a majority, otherwise major parties must negotiate with independents or minor parties to form government.

HOW TO VOTE Small green ballot paper (House of Representatives):
Both Geelong’s federal electorates have nine candidates running. Number the boxes from 1 to 9 in your choice of preference, with 1 being the person or party you most want to represent you in federal parliament.
White large paper (Senate): Number at least six boxes above the line to indicate the parties or groups you prefer in the order of your choice; OR
Vote below the line: you must number at least 12 boxes to choose candidates individually.

People who have tested positive to Covid after 6pm on May 13 can vote via phone. Go to aec.gov.au or call the AEC on 132 326 to organise a time.
