TIME TO HIT THE ROAD

-

ROCKY road lovers rejoice – chocolatiers at the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie in Bellbrae are taking the classic Aussie treat to new heights.

They will produce 31 flavours, made-to-order 1kg creations and host interactive tasting sessions during a festival celebration of the slice.

Chocolate lovers hitting the road to the Surf Coast’s sweetest destination until May 31 will discover how the traditional nuts, marshmallow and chocolate combination makes way for next-level rocky road inspired by cocktails, decadent ingredient pairings and fresh produce from the kitchen garden.

It is expected more than 50,000 handmade blocks will be made during the celebration, with fluffy house-made marshmallows and the finest of milk, dark, white, ruby and caramelised white coverture chocolate.

“Our European chocolatiers always marvel at the way us Aussies just love rocky road – and we really enjoy welcoming visitors to our festival dedicated to this old-time favourite,” owner Ian Neeland said.

“We have our most decadent line-up of rocky road flavour sensations yet. There’s our hands-on tasting sessions plus you can indulge online this year, so there’s lots of ways to rock on.”
