Angelina Jolie means serious business as Hannah, a daredevil smoke jumper who must guide a small boy through an active forest fire while also being chased by trained assassins. Although this thriller is obviously treading a well-worn path, it does so with real poise, purpose and surprisingly menacing intent. Punchy writing and direction comes from Taylor Sheridan (who penned the great Sicario and the hit series Yellowstone).
