Despite now being the deputy chair of the Geelong Manufacturing Council (and a consultant), Thys Heyns is a fossil fuel guy with 35 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry, most recently as the CEO of Viva Energy.

Given this, it is wise to unpack his endorsement of the Viva gas import terminal.

Perhaps an opinion piece from Saul Griffith on a vision to move to a sustainably sourced electric future could provide some balance.
