WINTER HOLIDAY FUN SET TO SNOWBALL

- OLIVIA SHYING

ADVENTURE Park Geelong’s Winter Glow festival is returning for the school holidays, with the Wallington venue ramping up for more snow, more rides, more lights and bigger fire and ice displays.

Managing director Leanne Salmon said Winter Glow sold out every day in its first year last year and was expected to be just as popular this year.

“We’ve invested in new rides, more snow-making machines, and we’re super-excited to be launching a snow flurry experience with realistic snow made from frozen water,” Ms Salmon said. New Air Balloons and Tea Cups rides add to six dry rides and minigolf, and are included in the admission price.

Local artist Glenn Smith will handcarve art from ice each day.

Fire-twirling performances and

2.7 million lights will also be on show.

Ms Salmon said face painting, cookie decorating and marshmallow roasting would be back, along with hot chocolate, spiced cider, mulled wine and a new schnapps bar where parents can warm up.

Winter warming food options will include pizzas, sticky date puddings and chocolate molten cakes.

“The Winter Glow is about brightening up the winter months and giving kids and families something to look forward to,” Ms Salmon said.
