DAY OF HEALING CULTURAL CELEBRATION
SUPPORT organisation Cultura will celebrate cultural diversity on Wednesday in recognition of Refugee Week.
The annual celebration, which aims to inform the public about refugees and celebrate positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society, runs from June 19 to June 25.
Cultura – born from the merger of Diversitat and Multicultural Aged Care Services (MACS) – will be marking the week with “a day of healing”. The organisation will host a program of events on Wednesday at the Cultura Hub in Norlane.
This will include a welcome in their own languages, guest speakers, the planting of a healing tree, and a henna station. Attendees are encouraged to wear traditional costumes, and artwork will be displayed at the hub for the full week.
The celebration will run from 10am to 12.30pm at 25-41 Arunga Ave, Norlane.
