COLIN KEEPS BEE GEE SPIRIT

-

ORIGINAL Bee Gees drummer Colin “Smiley” Petersen will perform some of the band’s biggest hits at Costa Hall on Saturday.

Colin was the earliest non-Gibb official band member and essential to the Bee Gees’ sound, driving the evolution of the supergroup on stage and in the studio over four albums and No. 1 singles including

Massachusetts and To Love Somebody.

He also shares screen time in the latest biopic How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, which was nominated for six Emmy Awards.

A child drumming prodigy, Colin welcomed US jazz legend Gene Krupa to Australia, playing his kit on the tarmac at Brisbane airport and later

swapped beats at the hotel. Colin was also a child actor with three iconic international films under his belt by the time he was a teenager.

The Best of the Bee Gees Show has brought global audiences hustling to their feet for more than two decades and the line-up includes Evan Webster (Barry Gibb), Russell Davey (Robin Gibb) and Greg Wain (Maurice Gibb).

“It’s wonderful that these incredible songs live on through this great show and I am thrilled to add another dimension by sharing my memories,” Colin said.

The Best of the Bee Gees with Colin “Smiley” Petersen will be performed at Costa Hall on Saturday, November 5 at 8pm. Book tickets at geelongartscentre.org.au.
