Cook quits Barwon Health role

- TAMARA MCDONALD

FORMER Geelong Cats chief executive Brian Cook will step down as chairman of Barwon Health at the end of his term in June.

Mr Cook announced his departure at Barwon Health’s annual meeting on Tuesday.

Now CEO of Carlton Football Club, Mr Cook was appointed chair of the Barwon Health board in 2017.

“I have served as a director for seven years on the Barwon Health board, and six of those as chair,” Mr Cook said.

Before that, he served on the Barwon Health Foundation board for two years.

“My nine years here have been a good stint,” he said.

Mr Cook, who will also leave the board, said he had always been in awe of Barwon Health’s staff.

Chief executive Frances Diver thanked Mr Cook for his support, saying, “Brian has been a steadfast support as chair … I thank Brian for his work and wish him well for the future”.
