Kanye in defence of wife Censori

- Tiffany Bakker

Rapper Kanye West has been named as a suspect in an assault case in Los Angeles after allegedly punching a man whom he believed “physically assaulted” his Australian wife Bianca Censori.

Police sources told website TMZ that West (below) and Censori left the area after the incident, which reportedly happened on Tuesday.

Police are investigating and told TMZ they planned to contact the couple.

A West spokesman said the man the star allegedly punched had “physically assaulted” Censori.

“The assailant didn’t merely collide into her,” West’s spokesman told TMZ.

“He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, and then he blew her kisses.”

The alleged incident happened at the Chateau Marmont Hotel, according to Fox 11 in the US.

West has been accused of assault before.

In January 2022, he was sued for assault, battery, and negligence after he allegedly punched autograph hunter Justin Poplawski.

Mr Poplawski claimed he was waiting outside a hotel to get West’s signature when the rapper told him to “Go the f--(out of) here before I beat you the f---up,” according to court documents.

West allegedly told Mr Poplawski he was “going to make a f--ing example of you” before hitting him.

The 2022 incident was investigated but West was not charged because there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction”.
