Tal­ented util­ity se­lected to State team

WA Coun­try Builders AFL Schol­ar­ship Holder Max Mur­phy has had his strong 2016 form re­warded by be­ing se­lected as a mem­ber of the WA State team for the NAB Un­der 16 Cham­pi­onships.

The tal­ented util­ity, who was per­son­ally awarded the schol­ar­ship by West Coast Ea­gles star Josh Kennedy ear­lier this year, was named among the best play­ers for WA in their nar­row seven-point loss against SA last Satur­day.

The young 187cm Rail­ways tyro has been train­ing in Perth for the past fort­night and is set to fly out to Queens­land to be a part of the team that will take on Vic Coun­try at Met­ri­con Sta­dium on Mon­day.

That match will be fol­lowed by a game against Vic Metro at South­port next Fri­day.
