Chequered flag flies high
The famed Jaguar XK 120 sportscar was introduced in 1948, and to celebrate the passing of those 70 years since, two Jaguar F-Type Chequered Flag Limited Edition models have been launched.
They are based on both the F-Type R-Dynamic Coupe and Convertible.
Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: “In creating the Chequered Flag, we’ve focused on details which enhance F-Type’s presence and promise of performance — and in doing so, made a fitting celebration of 70 years of beautiful, fast, Jaguar sports cars.”
Highlights include a black contrast roof on the F-Type Coupe.
The exterior is enhanced by a black design pack with SVO extended side sills and 20-inch gloss black wheels with diamond-turned finish.
There’s a chequered flag in the wheel centres and red brake callipers.
Inside, there’s Windsor leather on performance seats with embossed headrests.
There’s a dark brushed aluminium centre console trim finisher.
In recognition of Jaguar’s motorsport successes, the steering wheel has a chequered flag logo and red leather band to mark the 12 o’clock position.
Jaguar’s Touch Pro infotainment system features Meridian audio, a suite of connected services and, for the first time in an F-Type, Apple CarPlay and Android auto. There’s a 10-inch touchscreen. Power comes from either a
221kW/400Nm 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine or a choice of 250kW/450Nm or 280kW/
460Nm supercharged 3.0-litre V6 petrol engines.
All engines are mated to an eight-speed Jaguar Quickshift transmissions and send drive to the rear wheels.
In the 280kW models, there’s the option of Jaguar’s all-wheel-drive system.
