Skin woes

Girlfriend - - GF ADVICE -

I’m having some problems with my acne. It's really sore and red, and I can't use cream to make it go down. My skin is also sensitive and has eczema. I haven't got the money to do anything on my own and I don't know if I’ve infected it.

Fed up

The combination of eczema and acne can require different treatment to acne alone, as some acne treatments may irritate sensitive skin. The best thing is to see a GP. It may be time for oral antibiotics, and these require a prescription. I hear your concerns about money, but do you have a trusted adult who can help you access a doctor that will bulk bill? If so, the advice won't cost you, but you will need your Medicare number – and prescription medication will cost money. Every family is issued two cards with the whole family listed on it, so please talk to Mum or Dad if you can. If you are over 15, you can apply for your own card via Medicare, but that’s only if you can’t access the family card.
