Global Traveler

Ready to Reset

- Maria Angeles Account executive

It’s the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel! You’ve done your due pandemic diligence to stay safe and distanced, attended more Zoom meetings and virtual happy hours than you ever thought possible, connected with the family and amassed newfound appreciation for the local gems. Much of the world is now safely accessible — not to dismiss those still waiting to open their borders, but they will surely open soon. To that end, the Global Traveler team tirelessly scoured the world and connected with our partners near and far to bring you some of the most awe-inspiring destinations as you make your travel arrangements to get back out there to reinvigorate your senses. While you’ve been homebased, naturescapes found new life, and tourism has been on its longest hiatus ever but offers a chance for a reset to consider a mindful approach to exploring the world. The way I see it, it’s a much-needed refresh.

The long-awaited Global City Guidebook has arrived. Join us as we embark on a journey to reconnect with the world. You’ll explore everything from ancient Aztec ruins in Mexico City to Dubrovnik’s medieval city walls and Beitou Hot Springs in Taipei. I personally look forward to getting up close and personal with sumo culture in Japan this coming year and making it back to my hometown, Mexico City, and picking up some esquite as I traverse the hustle and bustle of the city to the historic Little Tokyo.

We want to thank you for sticking with us as we’ve collectively experienced one of the most impactful events in human history. Soon we’ll be able to look back at this and hopefully have learned we need to be kind to the places we visit and, most importantly, each other. Please enjoy this very special issue.
