All aboard. It’s time to cruise down the Mississippi River and play some of the American south’s finest golf courses along the way.
You’ll first arrive in Memphis, where you’ll spend four nights in a five-star hotel and play the terrific TPC Southwind, which is used annually by the PGA Tour.
Next up is the eco-friendly Mirimichi that was, until recently, owned by Justin Timberlake, who invested millions of dollars to turn it into one of the best public-access courses in Tennessee.
After checking out all that Memphis has to offer, including Graceland and the National Civil Rights Museum, it’s time to board ‘America’ – a luxurious and modern riverboat operated by American Cruise Lines – to begin your breathtaking cruise south to New Orleans.
History buffs will be in their element during a visit to Vicksburg the following day, which was the site of the most significant battle during the US Civil War, before the golf continues at the spectacular Beau Pré Golf Club. The next few days include rounds at The Bluffs, Carter Plantation Golf Club, and English Turn, which has hosted several PGA Tour events.
If, somehow, you haven’t felt pampered enough by the time ‘America’ berths in New Orleans, another three nights in a five-star hotel and golf at Money Hill Country Club should do the trick.
