The job of a caddie is to provide their player with all the relevant information relating to a shot and then assist in making a decision based on that data and the player’s game that best suits the hole.

Unfortunately today caddies and their expert guidance are almost exclusively limited to the world’s professional tours, but through a partnership with Microsoft and its Azure cloud, Arccos Golf hopes to provide that caddie experience to every golfer.

The caddie is a premium feature within the Arccos 360 app. Using a combination of every shot hit by the user when using the company’s shot tracking system, more than 61 million shots hit around the world using Arccos, geotagged data points and weather conditions Arccos Caddie delivers a personalised data-driven strategy for the golfer to play the hole in front of them.

Users will have to play five rounds before the Arccos Caddie is unlocked, so the system can build enough data about the player’s game. Then at the press of the “Caddie” button the user will be presented with the optimal path for the hole, as well as the likelihood of finding the fairway and the chances of hitting the green on par-3s.
