Numerous top players have suggested over the years that they could save the average golfer a significant number of strokes per round as a caddie. But fear not, you don’t need to luck into a round with a Tour pro to improve your scoring.

Hello Birdie has been established as a connected golf experience for some time, with the system updated in March this year and once again in June, with game planning via a virtual caddie sure to improve players’ decision making.

Based on artificial intelligence, the app allows golfers to prepare for their next round at more than 40,000 courses with the virtual caddie that evolves over time to better advise each individual player.

Using risk management for the first time, the app now provides aggressive and conservative options for each hole based on club choice, with aggressive options bringing up the chances of birdies and eagles while risking high scores and the conservative protecting against round ruining double bogeys and worse.

Giving the player more control over their strategy to help boost confidence, golfers can now instruct the virtual caddie as to what club they wish to take off the tee and then adjust their objective for the hole. These decisions then produce a real time update to the likely club needed for the next shot with predicted score outcomes.

When on the course, the ‘Live Caddie’ takes over and adjusts to the lie of the ball, weather conditions and their effect on the ball and necessary club choice via an improved algorithm.
