A PUTTER FOR ALL

- www.cobragolf.com.au

Cobra’s KING range of putters.

Cobra returned to the putter market in late 2020 with a limited-edition release of one model that was the first reveal of its partnership with HP to develop 3D printed golf equipment.

And now the manufacturer has gone from dipping a toe in the water to becoming a major player in the putter space with the unveiling of two putter lines that cater to both the traditionalist and those golfers looking for technology packed flatsticks full of forgiveness and innovation to roll the rock better.

The KING Vintage Series blends classic putter designs with modern performance, the four models offered in a variety of neck styles to cater to a wide range of golfer preferences and stroke types, and named for classic sports cars.

Each of the KING Vintage putters features adjustable weights and a face insert made from 6061 aircraft-grade aluminium that has been created in partnership with SIK Golf and with the input of Bryson DeChambeau.

The insert incorporates SIK’s Descending Loft Technology (DLT) that carries multiple lofts in the one face to ensure a better roll off the face regardless of the attack angle, while also producing soft yet crisp feel at impact.

Blade option, the Sport-45, is available in a plumbers and flow neck, the mid-mallet Torino offered in a single bend hosel, so too the fang-shaped mallet Nova which can also be purchased with a slant neck. All three models made from a 304 stainless steel body.

Adding a plastic/carbon-fibre housing system as part of a moment of inertia (MOI)

boosting construction, the oversized mallet Stingray is the most forgiving of the Vintage putters, with single bend and slant neck options on offer.

Pushing the collaboration with HP further, the KING 3D Printed Series of putters is a truly unique offering in the diverse world of putters.

Featuring the same aluminium insert as the Vintage series, the three 3D Printed models possess oversize heads for maximum MOI, with two of the putters available in the increasingly popular armlock setup.

Representing Cobra shifting from Metal Jet (metal 3D printing) to Multi-Jet (Nylon) 3D printing to capitalise on the weight-saving benefits of nylon in a newly designed lattice cartridge, the new range brings serious technology to an area of the game that not so long ago was perhaps last in the arms race of golf equipment innovation.

Benefitting from multi-material designs and the vibration damping qualities of the lattice cartridge, the GrandSport-35 (blade), SuperNova (oversized fang) and Agera (oversized mallet) are big on stability and like the KING Vintage range come standard with ‘COBRA CONNECT grip Powered by Arccos Caddie’ grips.

RRP: $399 (KING Vintage Sport-45, Torino, Nova); $449 (KING Vintage Stingray);
