Good Health (Australia) - - News - Nicky Dewe, Editor

A couple of weeks ago, I won Editor of the Year at an industry awards ceremony. I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear my name called out and to step up on stage to collect my prize. Typically I’m not one to pat myself on the back much. I have an innate fear that if I allow myself to feel too pleased I will immediately be met with some kind of disastrous humiliation. Pride comes before a fall, after all. For this reason I’m much more at home when judging my efforts with a critical eye, always looking for ways that I could have done better. But one of the things I’ve learned from this very magazine is that it’s really important to celebrate your achievements. Sometimes in life you need to stop and say, ‘You know what? Go, me!’ So this time, I decided I was going to enjoy the moment. When I got home that evening, I put my trophy by my bed and instead of falling asleep I lay awake until the small hours just grinning in the dark. Because the truth is, I am really proud of what my team and I do on this magazine. Things are always evolving in the world of wellness and we work hard to stay ahead of the game. We love all the discoveries we get to make along the way, but the best part for us is knowing that we’re on that journey with you. And each time you grab your copy of Good Health and Wellbeing you’re also doing something you should be proud of. You’re investing in your present and your future, and that that’s an achievement worth celebrating too.
