There’s an­other strike against pro­cessed foods: eat­ing pro­cessed meat is as­so­ci­ated with an in­creased risk of breast can­cer. Re­search pub­lished in the In­ter­na­tional Jour­nal of Can­cer found that those who ate a large amount of pro­cessed meat (around 25-30g a day, on av­er­age) had a nine per­cent in­creased risk of de­vel­op­ing the can­cer, com­pared to those who ate the low­est amounts (up to 2g a day). The meat un­der the mi­cro­scope?
