Ode to the ocean

Loclaire’s ‘Reefs’ shirt, $429, is made from a dreamy organic cotton and silk hemp blend in the colour of ‘sea’. The cuffs can be unfolded and worn long. Loclaire’s mission is to educate and inspire through clothes; to encourage living in a more conscious way, with the least impact on people and the planet. Each piece is made to evolve alongside you as a lifelong friend.

For modern mermaids

Jasmin Sparrow’s newest jewellery collection, Mermaid, is an ode to experiencing turbulent times with acceptance and awareness, allowing any emotions to flow through us in order to create new, even delightful, perspectives. We are particularly in love with the Mermaid earrings – clusters of irregular sea pearls and handmade in New Zealand. Designer Jasmin Scott originally hails from Wellington and her approach to her self-run business is “slow fashion”. She believes that by simplifying and concentrating on the maker’s process, one can be nurtured and enriched by the artistic outlet, not exhausted by it.

Halcyon days

Meadowlark’s Claire and Greg Hammon have focused on the idea of classics for their Halcyon collection, like these stunning freshwater pearl earrings. All pieces (released November) are made in Meadowlark’s New Zealand workshop. Pearls are sourced from environmentally responsible farms. The sapphires in the collection are traceable from mine to market, and reclaimed white diamonds are a stone option.
