For the youngsters I know, the amount of stuff they have acquired is not at all proportional to the amount of time they have been on the planet – where does it all come from?* Floors and tabletops disappear under never-ending waves of stuff, and rogue pieces turn up in the strangest of places. Bulky plastic tubs are practical and have their place, but there are many other more aesthetically pleasing storage options available that will look good sitting in the corner of the room. You could go with woven baskets, ply crates or a vintage trunk, checking first that they are child-friendly. *I’m looking at you, Grandma and Grandpa!
