Trade Aid is a social enterprise creating fairness in trade. These Horn Rainbow Earrings, $22.99, are fun, stylish – and hypoallerg­enic. They’re handmade by skilled artisans working with Tara Projects, a Trade Aid Fairtrade partner in India.

Etico

This Horn Cake Server, $26, is handcrafte­d in India from natural water buffalo horn with each server having its own distinctiv­e colouratio­ns. Water buffalo are a commonly bred animal in Asia for their meat and the horn is a by-product of this industry.

Nisa

Nisa combines impact and intimates by selling ethical comfortwea­r. Nisa’s range of underwear, swimwear, loungewear and socks are sewn in their Wellington workshop by women from refugee and migrant background­s. Below: Nisa Bralette, $119, and Brief, $49.

Loyal sources quality, fairly traded goods made by artisans from around the world and sells the imported goods online. All profits are converted to Loyal dollars, and awarded to the customer when they purchase. WE-AR

Etico

Trade Aid

These gorgeous stackable Origami Tea Cups, $12.99 each, are hand-painted with assorted modern designs by skilled artisans working with Craft Link, Trade Aid’s Fairtrade partner in Vietnam. The artisans source their excellent quality clay from North Vietnam.

Tonic & Cloth

Makers of ethical and sustainabl­e ‘Monday clothes that feel like Sunday’, Tonic & Cloth’s clothing is all made in New Zealand. Its Linen Cloud Print Dress, $230, is floaty, easy wear for those spring and summer months and made using fabric that would otherwise have gone to landfill.

Living Fibres

The Loyal Workshop

The Loyal Workshop is a leather goods producer in Kolkata, India that exists to provide alternativ­e employment to women trapped in modern-day sexual slavery. The hand-stitched Goodstead Ethical Leather Satchel, $280, is the perfect go-anywhere companion.
