Wine for the ocean
Samantha White spent the first six months of her life on a yacht so it makes sense that she feels a strong connection to the sea. In 1994, her parents Greg and Sue White sailed the Pacific with their baby daughter before being inspired to drop anchor in Marlborough and establish Whitehaven Wines. As the new ambassador of Kōparepare wine, which is bottled at Whitehaven, Samantha hopes to raise awareness of LegaSea, a non-profit organisation dedicated to restoring the abundance, biodiversity and health of New Zealand’s marine environment, and maintain a focus on the broader issue of ocean restoration. One hundred per cent of the revenue from the first 125 cases of Kōparepare wine will be donated to LegaSea and after that $1 from every bottle sold.
