WHERE TO SHOP

Our favourite opshops

Good team: Tatty’s in Auckland and online stores/businesses The Trading Rack, My Walk In Wardrobe, Scotties Recycle, Dove Hospice, Paper Bag Princess, Recycle Boutique and Designer Wardrobe. Aimee Egdell: Local Dove opshops. In Auckland, there’s a particularly good one in Remuera. Overseas, I love Komheyo in Tokyo. It’s an incredible three-storey-high store where each level is a di erent style! I also love RagTag Harajuku in Tokyo.

Gussie Larkin: St Vincent’s, Hunters and Collectors and Ziggurat in Wellington, Vixen in Auckland and lots of vintage sellers on Instagram, e.g., @Spacedoutmama, @archetypevintage, @laretrogirl and @retrogradercade.

Sally-ann Mo at: All thrift and second-hand stores are good stores! Overseas, I love Beacon’s Closet in New York City, Thanx God I’m a VIP in Paris, the 44 Humana stores scattered around Barcelona and Madrid and Australia’s Savers chain. Ultimately, though, it’s not about the name on the store – it’s about the stock inside, which is utterly random. Pop into your local opshop and embrace the thrill of the hunt!
