Slow made in Guatemala

-

We love Luna Bonita, which supports fair trade by partnering directly with artisans living in remote areas in Guatemala, most of them working in small home workshops. Luna Bonita founder, Andrea Cabrera (pictured), is a born and bred Guatemalan now living in New Zealand, and aims to make a positive di erence by being socially responsible and environmentally conscious. Products are made in small batches and in limited amounts. “We support nonfactory working conditions and let our artisans set their own prices and working schedule,” says Cabrera. Many of the handbags are one-of-a-kind and incorporate upcycled textiles. “The textiles we use are filled with patterns, colours and symbolism. Upcycling them gives them a chance to keep telling their story.”
