Okay, I know a drag queen reality TV contest doesn’t sound like it’d be for everyone, but honestly RuPaul’s Drag Race is the most consistently surprising, delightful and emotionally nourishing show on television right now. Come for the lip-synching, outrageous outfits and hilarious bitchiness, stay for the queer politics and weep-inducing narrative arcs of talented outsiders finding their place in the world. Currently in its tenth season, it might seem intimidating to start now. My advice? Start with season four – an intoxicating season where the show finds its confidence and soars – and never look back.
