GIVING BACK
“What we’re concerned about in the next few months of the pandemic, is making sure people have access to services once [government] benefits stop, and really normalising asking for help,” says Plate It Forward co-founder Shaun Christie-David. In recent months the social enterprise has partnered with P&V, Young Henrys and Lucky Kwong to distribute meals to anyone in need. By partnering with locally loved hospitality folk, Plate It Forward hopes to break the stigma of asking for help, while also strengthening a sense of community within the hospitality industry.
