WHILE it is always disappointing to lose – and tough to watch at home – I was proud of the performance of the boys against Adelaide last Saturday.

It is always challenging on the road and while we have had some success at Adelaide Oval, it is difficult in that environment, especially when the opposition get a bit of a run-on.

Clearly you go into every game with a mindset and plan to win the game and we gave ourselves every chance with a few positional changes and a couple of tweaks to the brand.

We were looking pretty good at three-quarter time, but the Crows responded and their first 10 to 15 minutes of the last quarter were overwhelming. A couple of their key players sprang to life, their crowd got involved and unfortunately we could not contain them.

While the losses sting, every club tends to go through flat spots.

We are in one at the moment, but you are only ever a win away from getting back on track and I’d back the character of our squad to do that sooner than later.
