Police have charged a 16year-old boy over an incident in which a police officer was seriously injured on Wednesday evening.
About 7.10pm on November 28 police were called to Wellington Square in East Perth.
A police officer was talking to several people when it is alleged the boy assaulted the officer.
He was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries, but has since been released.
A 16-year-old boy from Newman was charged with assaulting a public officer (prescribed circumstances, juvenile) and breach of a bail undertaking.
He appeared in Perth Children’s Court last week.
