NEWS 4 www.communitynews.com.au January 8, 2019 Year ahead launches with a bang AS we welcome a new year, I say thank you to our fantastic community for your participation in and passion for life in Vincent.
Please join us over the holidays for free Vincent events – we’ll enjoy sunny days and balmy nights together in the great outdoors.
It’s an exciting year ahead, focusing on parks and open spaces, trees and greening, more welcoming streets and vibrant town centres.
The year 2019 will bring North Perth Common, an exciting new town square, the 40km/h speed trial in southern residential streets, an iconic public artwork, solar panels on the City’s buildings and less waste to landfill.
To those who decorated street trees, verges and homes for Christmas, a big thank you!
This brings festive joy to our neighbourhoods and adds to our community spirit in Vincent.
From all of us at Vincent, we wish you a joyful and safe festive season. THERE is a lot happening across the City and I’m excited about what 2019 will bring.
Our main focus this year will be on progressing and improving the many projects, services and initiatives we have underway, and connecting with our community.
2018 saw us deliver some great projects and outcomes, such as the completion of the Scarborough redevelopment and pool, securing funding for the Stephenson Avenue extension and working with our community to get the Inglewood Monday Night Markets and Scarborough Beach Markets up and running.
We have a number of great community projects on the go, such as the upgrade of the Princess Wallington Reserve in Balga, the upgrade of the Robinson Reserve in Osborne Park and the renovation of the Nollamara Football Club.
We’re really proud to be able to run and support events and 2019 kicks off with the Sunset Veranda on January 18.
