This is the acoustic part from under Exs 1 and 2. This is what Glenn Frey would be playing to underpin the song. The rhythm notation is just a guide to put you on the right track, but notice the timing of the chord changes, particularly in bar 2 and 3. Also, open strings are used to give a smoother chord change in a few places. To give a wider stereo sound, I’ve used the Eagles trick of doubling this part using a capo at the 5th fret, so the starting G chord uses the D shape.
