This ex­am­ple uses the same changes as Ex­am­ple 4 but ex­ploits a slightly dif­fer­ent ap­proach. Here we see how Earl might ap­proach syn­co­pated sin­glenote lines jux­ta­posed with a se­lec­tion of choice dou­ble-stops sep­a­rated by di­a­tonic 6ths. That’s quite a va­ri­ety of ideas in such a short sec­tion. Your best op­tion here from a pick­ing per­spec­tive is a com­bi­na­tion of thumb and first fin­ger (or if you’re a hy­brid pick­ing afi­cionado, plec­trum and first fin­ger).
