Get the Tone
for the rock track i used my Valley Arts standard Pro equipped with a D-tuna. this allows you to detune the sixth string of vibrato-equipped guitars at the flick of a switch. Otherwise a fixed bridge electric (tele, les Paul etc) is a good option due to the inherent tuning stability. for the acoustic track i used my stonebridge s23 but any acoustic will do well. for the electric tone use medium gain with a punchy overdrive and select the bridge pickup . too much overdrive muddies things and you risk stepping into metal territory.
