Get the tone

Technically, since this is an ideas based lesson any tone will do to play the examples. However, to get as near as possible to Dan’s powerful single-coil sound, select your guitar’s bridge pickup, tame any top end with the tone control, and add enough drive to create sustain but not so much as to obscure the guitar’s fundamental tone. Add reverb to taste.
