Get the Tone

Albert started out with a 1959 Gibson Flying V and moved on to his custom made V named Lucy, with a full length Albert King fingerboard inlay. He favoured solid-state amps turned up loud, using his thumb and fingers to strike the strings. To get the tone with your rig, select a crunchy tone with plenty of bite. The bridge pickup is the best bet and go for a minimal overdrive setting, just enough to provide sustain. A little reverb will help here.
