EXAMPLE4 COHESIVE SOLO – GRANT GREEN-STYLE
CD TRACK 23
We conclude this look into repetitious soloing ideas with a cohesive study based around one complete chorus of a jazz-funk 12-bar blues in the key of E Minor. From a notes perspective, we’re sticking to a combination of E Dorian, E Minor Pentatonic and E Blues scale for the E Minor7 chords and A Mixolydian for A7 (A-B-C#-D-E-F#-G), essentially the same notes as b7 E Dorian. For C7 we imply a chromatically decorated C Lydian (C-D-EBb) F#-G-A- and for B7alt we’re using a selection of notes drawn from B Superlocrian/C Melodic Minor (B-C-D-D#-F-G-A). I do hope you enjoy it!
