Get the Tone

A clean sound with a good amount of reverb will get you in the right ball park. A neck humbucker will get you closest to Spanky’s sound, but neck and middle pickups on a Strat style guitar, or middle setting on a Tele are both great choices to create the ‘liquid’ sound that works so well for this style. Experiment with your guitar’s tone controls, too.
