EXAMPLE1 MOLLY TUTTLE STYLE

-

(Bars 1-24) This is your typical bluegrass open position playing. We start with a banjo inspired phrase in the first eight bars and this is a good place to loosen the wrist and warm up with ‘snappy’ down and up strokes. The melody follows this and should be played with alternate picking throughout. Although it’s a tricky part to play using the pick, do try and avoid the temptation to use any hammer-ons and pull-offs!
