Rock Me Baby from Johnny’s 1969 Album White Hot Blues showcases his wide vibrato and rapid Pentatonic phrases. In 1988, Winter was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame, the first non-African American to be given that honour. After his death in 2014, Winter was awarded the BB King International Artist of the Year Award, as well as posthumously earning a Grammy for Best Blues Album.
