Marshall JTM45 2245 head £1,259
Thanks to a certain Jim Marshall, rock guitar was made possible. The 30-watt JTM45 2245 was Marshall’s first amp, made back in ’62 – this Vintage Re-Issue Series is a “meticulously accurate re-issue”, says Marshall, including its GZ34 rectification. In its 1962 ‘Bluesbreaker’ 2x12 configuration (£1,569), it’s classic Clapton, but, be warned, just like the engineers found on those ‘Beano’ sessions, you’re gonna have to play loud. Very loud!
